Indigenous And First Nations Acknowledgement

WAWA Shriners, Moose Jaw Shrine Club and the city of Moose Jaw acknowledge that we are located on the traditional territory of Treaty 4, the original lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakoda, and Lakota peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation. The club and city also acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past and are committed to moving forward in equal partnerships with Indigenous Nations.

Thank you

Welcome to Moose Jaw

Our notoriety comes from many places

  • Our underground tunnels that legend says were used by Al Capone, the world’s most notorious gangster.
  • Mac, who recaptured the title of World’s Tallest Moose” following an international “moose war” with Norway in 2019.
  • The Canadian Forces Snowbirds. Moose Jaw’s 15 Wing is home to the internationally renowned 431 Air Demonstration Squadron.
  • Canada’s Most Notoriously Charming downtown, which strikes the right balance of history, heritage, shopping, entertainment and culture.
  • Our name! Once you hear the name “Moose Jaw”, you don’t forget it.
  • And, of course, our people. Moose Javians are excited to show you how Notoriously Friendly and Notoriously Welcoming we are. Thank you for choosing Moose Jaw as your destination – you won’t forget it!

Parade Information

Saskatchewan law mandates safety requirements for off-road vehicles, including ATVs, even in parades. This means helmets, eye protection, a driver’s license, and insurance are essential. Vehicles designed for off-road use, regardless of current modification, are subject to these rules.

Alcohol Use Information

Additionally, Saskatchewan has specific and potentially strict alcohol legislation. As such, adherence to all local alcohol laws is expected during the MSA Summer Session, especially in licensed venues and public spaces. Violations could lead to legal consequences and impact the fraternity’s ability to obtain future licenses. Guests from outside Canada should be particularly mindful of these regulations, as violations could involve police intervention and have significant repercussions.
